Today (March 26, 2026) at 2:00 PM, Police General Kittirat Phanphet, Commissioner General of Police, presided over a press conference at the Narcotics Suppression Bureau to discuss the outcomes of the Royal Thai Police's (Narcotics Suppression Bureau) operations to combat drug networks. The operation included each of the required units to "cut off the source, cut off the distribution routes, and cut off the destination," as well as the physical seizure of assets from offender networks. From October 1, 2025, to March 25, 2026, the Royal Thai Police has been strongly integrating its forces with relevant authorities to drive drug suppression efforts across all dimensions. This resulted in the arrest of 145,541 drug-related cases and the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics, including 693,452,982 methamphetamine pills, 22,802.39 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 596.92 kilograms of heroin, 3,819.07 kilograms of ketamine, 268,105 ecstasy pills, and the confiscation of assets related to the offenses totaling over 5,851 million baht.

On January 3, 2026, officials from the Narcotics Suppression Division and military men from the Army Operations Command imprisoned six suspects and 1,998,000 methamphetamine pills. The suspects admitted that they were contracted to transport drugs from the northern border to a network in the central region. Initially, officials detained all suspects and confiscated evidence for legal proceedings, and are now widening the probe to include more members of the criminal network. The Metropolitan Police Command (MPD) detained 3,656 people for major offenses when they were attempting to smuggle drugs to Hong Kong disguised as instant noodle packets packed in four cartons. Meanwhile, the Border Patrol Police Command (BPP) in Region 5 arrested three major drug cases, seizing 10 million methamphetamine pills and catching nine people.

Pol. Gen. Kittirat stated that this announcement represents continued "pressure in all dimensions," including investigation, follow-up, suppression, asset seizure, and smuggling interception, to prevent drug spread and limit the impact on public security and safety. He also instructed all units to conduct their operations in a professional, transparent, and law-abiding manner. The Royal Thai Police seeks public participation; anyone with information about drugs or suspicious individuals can call the 24-hour hotlines 191 or 1599.
