Today (5 April) at 6:30 PM at the Kantharalak District Office, Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, Lt. Gen. Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defence, gave an interview after presiding over the opening ceremony of the event “Uniting Thai People, Boosting Morale in Kantharalak: Celebrating Unity and Honoring Brave Soldiers.” He stated that the objectives of the event were:To honor the soldiers who participated in the two recent border conflicts. To encourage and restore the morale of villagers, building confidence in their safety and property, and assuring entrepreneurs and investors that the military and government agencies are ready to protect Thai sovereignty. He urged the public to continue their lives normally, noting that if any fighting occurs, the troops stationed in the area are fully capable of protecting national sovereignty. Tourists are also encouraged to visit Kantharalak District, which boasts many beautiful attractions such as Pha Mo I Daeng, Khao Sattasom, and the Chong Sam Tae area. He also noted that in the past, Thai forces successfully recaptured the Phu Makheua area.

When asked if he had any concerns about the situation along the Thai border, Lt. Gen. Adul said he had no concerns because the military maintains complete control of the area following the previous two conflicts. While there are currently no indications of a third conflict, he assured that any warning signs would be detected and the public notified promptly. He urged the public to rely on official government sources—such as village heads, community leaders, and army spokespersons—for accurate information, rather than social media seeking "views."
Regarding the morale of the troops, Lt. Gen. Adul affirmed that it remains high. He stated that his role is to improve the quality of life for border defense forces, ensuring they have adequate facilities such as running water, electricity, proper roads, and mobile signals. He will continue to push for these improvements, noting that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has specifically instructed him to oversee the welfare of soldiers.

When asked further whether former Defense Minister General Natthaphol Nakpanich had given any guidance, Lieutenant General Adul said, "There's no need to worry. General Natthaphol has asked me to take good care of the welfare of lower-ranking soldiers. I confirm that I will proceed according to General Natthaphol's guidance and am ready to continue it because General Natthaphol's approach is entirely good."
