Today (28 April 2026) at 9:40 AM at Government House, Ms. Supajee addressed the durian sales controversy, stating that this year's durian production exceeds 33%, or 2 million tons, necessitating proactive marketing strategies considering both supply and demand and both domestic and international markets. International markets will be expanded to include more secondary cities in China, while domestic marketing will focus on multiple channels.

Regarding the criticism of Pimrypie for selling durian at 100 baht per fruit, she believes it's a promotional tactic. Details regarding any conditions or timeframe for such sales will be determined later. It is believed that there shouldn't be any issues with quality not matching the description, because with such a strong following and so many people watching, the regulatory agencies are also keeping a close eye on things. Therefore, it is believed that Pimrypie would not dare to do such a thing. She also emphasized that the pricing remains good, even with a large supply. Grade A and B durians, which are export grade, are priced at approximately 140-150 baht per kilogram. She stressed that durians come in many grades, varieties, and qualities, and therefore, people should observe Pimrypie's promotions first, believing that they are fair and in accordance with the agreements made with the farmers. The Ministry of Commerce will oversee and promote marketing mechanisms and proactive marketing, including opening new market channels, because this year's production is high.

Regarding the controversy, Ms. Supajee stated that she believes it stemmed from Pimrypie's case of selling durian for 100 baht per fruit. She emphasized that they need to wait and see, as promotional offers involve many conditions, and the Ministry of Commerce is not involved in this aspect. The ministry only oversees quality and overall pricing and treats all influencers equally. She also clarified that she did not participate in the live sales event with Pimrypie today, contrary to news reports, as she has been working constantly. Or even claiming to have a 3-hour live sales broadcast to Chinese customers when in reality it was only 3 minutes.

Regarding the opposition party's suggestion that the Ministry of Commerce study market mechanisms to avoid further hardship for farmers, Ms. Supajee stated that the Ministry of Commerce has a plan in place at least 3 months in advance. Seeing that supply will definitely exceed the target this year, addressing the problem at the end stage will be insufficient. Therefore, they need to add new sales channels and examine marketing from upstream, midstream, and downstream, focusing on selling processed products. This allows them to sell lower-quality durian and maintain its market presence year-round. Furthermore, for other fruits such as mangosteen and rambutan, the Ministry of Commerce has plans to monitor all agricultural products, maintaining a calendar of what will be available each month. However, today, if the price of durian, known as the "king of fruits," is good, the prices of other fruits will also improve.
