Today (11 May 2026), reporters reported that Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, former prime minister, posted a message on Instagram after Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, former prime minister, was released from Klong Prem Central Prison and returned to Baan Chan Song La. She wrote: "The most important thing today is that we have each other. Thank you, Dad, for never making things difficult for us, even when you were in the most difficult situation. You said that if you were in a bad situation, your children would be even worse off. Thank you to my siblings, brothers, and sisters-in-law for standing by my side so strongly.

Although my mother isn't in this photo, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to her, who, at over 70 years old, still stands as a pillar of support, a warm embrace that allows her children to survive and feel secure. Finally, thank you to my friends and fellow members of the Pheu Thai Party and the people who have always stood by me during the most difficult times. It means so much to us. Lots of love. #daddyshome"
