Today (27 October 2026) at 12:00 PM at Government House, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, announced following the Cabinet meeting that the Cabinet has approved a reduction in excise tax for E20 ethanol gasoline and B20 biodiesel. This measure aims to alleviate financial burdens for farmers, transport operators, and the general public, encouraging greater adoption of both fuel types to drive demand for agricultural products, support crop prices, and reduce fuel cost burdens.

Regarding retail pump prices following the tax cuts, the Prime Minister stated that the Ministry of Energy will hold a meeting this afternoon to review the figures, having already received the approved excise tax cut rates from the Cabinet. The excise tax for E20 will be reduced by 5.60 baht per liter, while B20 will be reduced by 5.50 baht per liter, with the price gap expected to differ by over 10 baht. He has instructed the Minister of Energy to proceed with the implementation.

Additionally, the Prime Minister mentioned that the initial duration of the tax reduction measure will be set at 3 months, after which the situation will be reassessed. He also urged reporters not to use headlines stating that prices are being cut across the board, as this tax reduction strictly applies only to E20 and B20.
