Today (30 October 2026), Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, Chair of the Thai Phueng Thai Foundation, commented on the scheduling of the no-confidence debate for December 7–11, 2026, stating:
“A 60-day wait for a no-confidence debate! I have looked back at the timelines for such debates since 1992; in most cases, the period from the opposition’s submission of the motion to the actual debate was about two weeks sometimes as short as seven days. Even in the longest instance in the past, it took 45 days. Yet, this time, the opposition submitted the motion on October 8, and the debate is set for December 7 meaning a wait of approximately 60 days, or two months.
Another point of interest is the duration allotted for the opposition to present their arguments. Historically, this has generally been around three days, with some administrations allowing up to four. I encourage the public to follow this debate closely, as it is more than just a standard no-confidence motion; it is also an instance where the interval between the submission of the motion and the day of the debate was exceptionally long.”
