On 5 November 2026 at the Veterans General Hospital, Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defence and President of the Veterans Council, along with his delegation, visited the facility to oversee medical treatment and rehabilitation services for veterans. The visit also served to review operational progress and strategies for caring for those who once sacrificed themselves in the line of duty to protect the nation. The delegation was welcomed by General Kannat Nikoryanon, Director-General of the War Veterans Organization.

Lieutenant General Adul stated that his visit was intended to offer encouragement to the hospital’s medical staff. He noted that because many of the veterans are elderly, their medical care requires special attention. He urged the medical team to take pride in caring for individuals who made sacrifices for the country—veterans who, despite their advanced age, possess a wealth of experience in serving the nation. Many of these individuals carry injuries or disabilities, and this care serves as a tribute to their service. Beyond offering encouragement, the visit also provided an opportunity to address existing challenges.

Lieutenant General Adul expressed his admiration for the vocational training initiatives led by the hospital director, which include programs such as teaching artistic skills to injured veterans to help them develop professional capabilities. “It is inspiring to see veterans who, despite sustaining disabilities in the past, now possess such a positive spirit—whether through their work in woodcarving, fortune telling, or other handicrafts. I would like to express my gratitude to the hospital director for providing such excellent care, which has clearly helped foster this resilient mindset.”

Following this, the Minister of Defence observed demonstrations of arts, crafts, and woodcarving created by the veterans. These works showcase their talents and the effectiveness of vocational training programs, which help create employment opportunities and improve their overall quality of life. The Minister also visited veterans currently undergoing treatment, offering words of encouragement and providing financial support to boost their morale—a gesture reflecting deep concern for those who once served to protect the nation. Additionally, he inspected a mobile unit for orthotic and prosthetic devices, an initiative designed to support rehabilitation and facilitate the daily lives of veterans.

This visit underscores the ongoing commitment of the Ministry of Defence and the War Veterans Organization to care for those who made sacrifices for the country. Through medical treatment, rehabilitation, and efforts to enhance their quality of life, the aim is to ensure that veterans are treated with the honor and dignity they deserve, and that they are never left behind after their service to the nation has concluded.
