(SAP News - Ratcha Piyathammadhaj) The Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) operators have announced the resumption of travel package sales, starting September 11, 2025, and running through March 31, 2026. The move follows a temporary suspension earlier this year, after the government opened registration for the “20-Baht Flat Fare” project, which has yet to be implemented.
BTS has relaunched its “Xtreme Savings” package for the Green Line covering Mo Chit–On Nut and National Stadium–Wongwian Yai routes. Prices remain the same as before the 20-Baht project registration.
l Students: Starting at an average of 27 baht/trip.
l General public: Starting at an average of 34 baht/trip.
Packages are available via the Rabbit Rewards application and at all ticket offices. Passengers must take their first trip within seven days of loading the package, with the remaining trips valid until the package expires.

MRT Yellow and Pink Lines, including the Muang Thong Thani extension, have also reinstated travel packages. Options include a weekly pass (10 trips/7 days) and monthly passes (15, 25, or 35 trips/30 days). Tickets can be purchased at ticket counters across all 55 stations or through the Rabbit Rewards app.

The decision to resume packages came after strong public demand. On September 9, Suphanat Minchaiynunt, Bangkok MP from the People’s Party, submitted a petition urging BTS to reconsider its cancellation. He argued that people faced a sudden rise in living costs, especially from higher transportation expenses.
Meanwhile, questions remain over the government’s 20-Baht fare policy. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul reaffirmed that while the initiative would benefit the public, it must be financially sustainable. He stressed that the government cannot continuously subsidize the difference or purchase private concessions outright, emphasizing the need for the project to be self-reliant.
